iOS 6 offers Do Not Disturb feature, adds more Zs to your slumber

Ever get annoyed when your sleep is interrupted by a call or message coming into your phone. As we were hoping, iOS 6 is getting the badly needed Do Not Disturb feature we first saw in Mountain Lion last month. The idea is simple: when activated, push notifications will be automatically muted and the screen won't light up. A whitelist option will be available so you won't miss important callers; you can also set up the feature so that if a person calls you more than once, the phone will allow the call to come through.

Samsung denies purchasing Nokia

I am not quite sure what to think of this story – that despite rumors going around that Samsung is going to pick up Nokia as part of their shopping spree, the South Korean conglomerate has officially stepped forward to deny such rumors, saying that the reports and speculation that arose last week were "purely speculative and are not true." Having said that, when speculation of a buyout from Samsung made its rounds last week, Nokia's shares surged by around 6%, but with today's official denial of such rumors, the stock of the Finnish phone manufacturer dropped by a couple of percentage points.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update on 2011 Sony Experia handsets is not all that smooth

I know that having an Ice Cream Sandwich as a dessert is supposed to be a smooth experience for your throat, but it seems that this is not the case for some owners of Sony Xperia handsets which hail from 2011. Apparently, the latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich software update has an unwanted passenger hanging around – the bug does seem to affect LED notification, which is deemed as a crucial function for most users out there. The users claim that the notification LED will no longer flash whenever their smartphone receives SMS or emails, especially when the screen remains locked.

Next generation MacBook Pro announced

So, the rumorshave proved true – there is such a thing as the next generation MacBook Pro, which will come with a Retina Display. Just what kind of new computing era will be ushered in with a Retina Display. Well, Apple claims that the next generation MacBook Pro is the most beautiful computer that they have ever made, and I would say that most folks would concur that no notebook is as good looking as this. It is not as thin as a MacBook Air, but will most probably be able to give it a run for its money by being 25% thinner than the current MacBook Pro.

Apple kicks off WWDC 2012: 650,000 App Store apps, 30 billion downloads served

. Apple's annual Worldwide Developer Conference started with a bang on Monday as Apple CEO Tim Cook took the stage to begin the company's WWDC 2012 keynote. To be fair, Siri actually made the first appearance to kick off the show by telling a few jokes - including some pokes at Android and its dessert-related naming convention - before Cook took the stage.
