Jaguar says F-Type sales off to flying start

Jaguar says F-Type sales off to flying start

As we noted in our recent first drive, Jaguar's luscious new F-Type roadster is a bit of a tweener in both size and cost, lining up in between rival Porsche's Boxster and 911. That one-for-two-segment strategy is showing early signs of paying off, with Automotive News reporting that half of the car's 2014 production allotment is already sold. We're not talking huge numbers – sports cars in this segment only "have a global annual volume of about 75,000 units and a market share of 0.1 percent," notes Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark.

Acer rumored to launch $400 Android PC

Acer rumored to launch $400 Android PC

Android has yet to make a big splash in the PC market, but that could be changing soon. Rumors suggest that Google and others are working on Android-powered notebooks, and the latest says Acer could soon launch a PC based on the mobile OS. Said to be part of their AiO lineup, the “all-in-one' computer would likely feature touchscreen support and balanced specs to provide appealing pricing. Given the relatively lightweight Android OS, the new PC could launch with as little as 1GB of RAM, but it is also said to rock Intel's Core i5 Haswell CPU clocked at 3GHz.

Logitech introduces a Wired Keyboard for iPad with plug-and-play convenience

Logitech introduces a Wired Keyboard for iPad with plug-and-play convenience

The school system in my area recently announced they were purchasing a large number of iPads as part of a new education paradigm.  iPads are wonderful, and no one loves them more than me, but I will admit they are more useful for education purposes when they are paired with a physical keyboard for faster, easier note-taking or typing up reports.  When I have passed along an iPad to a niece or nephew, I've always included a Bluetooth keyboard.  They are older and can quickly and easily set up the Bluetooth connection when needed.

Razer Blade Pro and 14-inch models hands-on

Razer Blade Pro and 14-inch models hands-on

Each will come with Intel's fourth-generation Core-i7 quad-core silicon (a 47W chip in the Pro and a 37W CPU in the 14-incher) and a freshly revealed NVIDIA GTX 765M GPU, plus bigger batteries than ever before. If it wasn't already obvious, let us spell it out for you: a big reason for these changes is electrical economy. One of the biggest complaints with any portable gaming rig is its battery life, or more accurately, lack thereof. A more efficient CPU and GPU, plus an extra 10 to 14 Wh of juice means that Razer is acutely aware of the problem and is taking steps to fix it.

Vox amPhones AC30 headphones review

Vox amPhones AC30 headphones review

I love to play electric guitar. I love to turn my amp up not to 10, but to 11 (some may get the reference). But what happens when you live in a small house and your housemates don't have the same opinion of the rock god-like skills you possess. The amPhones AC30 headphones from Vox Amplification  may just save your fantasy tour from cancellation. Note: Images can be clicked to view a larger size.

So, all rock fantasy aside I do enjoy playing my guitar loud and with several effects, but it is an issue living in a small house.

Revisiting Dick Guldstrand's forgotten Corvette ZR-1

Revisiting Dick Guldstrand's forgotten Corvette ZR-1

The crew from Electric Federal recently sat down with Dick Guldstrand to discuss the builder's favorite creation. Guldstrand grew up during the glory days of the California hot rod scene and made a name for himself racing and building Chevrolet Corvette bruisers. In the early '90s, he became dismayed at rumors that General Motors was considering cancelling the sports car. In order to stoke a little excitement, Guldstrand picked up a 475-horsepower Corvette ZR-1 and let designer Steve Winter loose on the car.

Twitter for Android update adds new camera roll view, richer notifications

Twitter for Android has just been upgraded in the Google Play Store with a couple of new features worth paying attention to. The biggest change will be in the compose window. Things look a little bit tighter and easier on the eyes, but colors, fonts, and arrangement of elements aren't the only things to see here.

Sonos Controller update brings greater Spotify controls

Sonos Controller update brings greater Spotify controls

Google Play Music All Access might be the hottest thing in town right now, but Spotify still has a very viable service that many people just can't put down. That's probably why the latest update to the Sonos Controller app focuses on implementing even greater controls for those who are still tied up with Spotify. Users can create and edit their Spotify playlists from right within the app, so there's no cumbersome two-step process to go through if you feel like queuing up a different set of your favorite tunes. You'll also be able to access all your playlist folders from right within the app.

Blue and red HTC One to release this summer [RUMOR]

Blue and red HTC One to release this summer [RUMOR]

We've heard rumors that HTC could be working on a red version of the HTC One after the device was “leaked” in a poor shop job, later appearing on a UK retailer's website. HTC was quick to deny these rumors, and that was the last we heard of the device. Today, the boys at Pocket-Lint have it on good authority that not only is the red HTC One real and launching within the next few months, but that a new blue version will also be releasing alongside it. These red and blue versions of the HTC One will be joined by the currently available silver and black versions.

Everyday Carry Gear - Ian Lim

Everyday Carry Gear - Ian Lim

All the other team members are showing off their wares, so suppose I'd better join the herd.  Problem is I actually have more than one EDC bag depending on things like day of the week, mode of transport, and destination. Things just seem to move in and out of different bags. I've just grabbed what's in my currently most-packed work bag, as it's probably the most representative.
My most used bag is a Limited Edition Timbuk2 Medium Classic Messenger made of old school canvas. This bag's been around the world with me and hasn't skipped a beat.

This is why your T-Mobile/Verizon/AT&T/Sprint store doesn't have live units on the showroom floor [VIDEO]

It's tough out there for a T-Mobile sales person. Ever wondered why — depending on your area — your local T-Mobile/Verizon/Sprint/AT&T retail store may not feature live display units of the latest smartphones to play around with. Well, it might have something to do with stop n' robs like what occurred at a T-Mobile retail store in Seattle, WA. It was a day like any other. T-Mobile store employees helped customers, filed paperwork, dusted off store shelves… and oh, yeah — they got robbed.

Watch a custom Ruby motorcycle helmet get illustrated, party ensue

Ruby makes some of the most beautiful (and pricey) vintage-inspired helmets on the face of the planet – the lids transcend the typical formless safety wear to something approaching sculpture. Maxwell Paternoster recently turned one of the company's Castel helmets into his own personal canvas, and turned a video camera on to illuminate his process. Paternoster is the designer and illustrator behind Corpses From Hell, a site consumed with motorcycle design and imagery. With a flair for the deranged, Pasternoster's works toe the line between high-school notebook doodles and hilarious brilliance, each oozing with motorcycle cool.
