Report: Nintendo May Change Wii U's Name

Gaming blog Computer and Video Games, citing a Nintendo insider, reports that the company is considering giving the next-gen Wii console a new name. The 100-year-old company is said to be worried whether the name “Wii U” would be a hit and their analyses gear toward the negative. Customers might get a false impression that the Nintendo Wii U would just be an add-on to the current Wii and not a completely revamped system.

Chevrolet has purchased seven spots. Chevrolet has purchased seven spots. Exactly which vehicles will be featured and at what times is still stirring healthy debate at GM headquarters.
"Every day, we're changing the spots of what's running where," said Chris Perry, Chevrolet's vice president of global marketing and strategy. "We're probably going to push it to the end."

That comes Tuesday, Jan. 31 when NBC wants final decisions.

Flurry: Kindle Fire closes in on Galaxy Tab as top Android tablet

There’s a new sheriff in town according to Flurry, an analytics company tracking tens of thousands of Android applications. After crunching the numbers on Android tablet usage the firm found that the Amazon Kindle Fire has quickly closed the gap with the Samsung Galaxy Tab. In November, the Galaxy Tab (no specific model is named) accounted for 63 percent of the Android tablet market in terms of application sessions tracked by Flurry. The fledgling Kindle Fire only accounted for 3 percent  during its first month on the market.

Daycraft – Alternatives to Moleskine and Rhodia Notebooks

Who among us is a notebook / stationary junky. Let's see a show of hands please… Me too. That's why I was grinning from ear to ear when the mailman dropped off a box of samples from a company that I'd not heard of before: Daycraft. I suppose the reason why I've not heard of Daycraft is because they are based in Hong Kong and do not seem to have any distributors here in the US. That's disapppointing because they are offering some quality notebooks that mix style with a dash of quirky.

Daycraft sent me 4 samples, but they offer many different types of notebooks, daily calenders and sketchbooks.

This is the Cookie Bookie notebook.

Sprint's HTC EVO View 4G and Blackberry Playbook reaches EOL status

Uh-oh, it looks like if you were planning to get either the HTC EVO View 4G or RIM's Blackberry Playbook tablet from Sprint, you might want to hurry as a purported leaked internal document has shown that both devices have been put up on the chopping block and have been marked with an EOL (End of Life) status. For those unfamiliar, this means that both devices will be gradually phased out in favor of newer devices, possibly their successors.

Next Land Rover Defender to be built in India?

When Tata's purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover began to appear inevitable, the question "Would you buy a Jaguar made in India?" was oft repeated. Yet it looks like Land Rover will be the first of the two brands to try to benefit from this kind of Anglo-Indian synergy: a report in Autocar states that the 2015 Land Rover Defender will be built at Tata's plant in Pune, India. The Defender is a truly old school body-on-frame SUV that sells in small numbers compared to the rest of the Land Rover line.

British limo company eager to show its chops with stretched Audi R8 (video)

Some vehicles are made to be stretched. Others, less so. A Lincoln Town Car, for example, is a good platform for a limo. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, sure. A Rolls-Royce Phantom. We could even see the attraction behind a Cadillac Escalade limo, if we had to. But not an exotic supercar.

The folks over at Carbonyte would beg to differ, though. The British coachbuilder made its reputation, such as it is, by helping Mercedes-Benz and McLaren develop the chassis for the SLR.

Government: Chevrolet Volt is not a fire hazard

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the all-electric Chevrolet Volt is not a fire hazard, despite coming under scrutiny in 2011 after a model caught fire after a side-impact crash test. General Motors did respond to that scenario by offering a buyback program for existing Volt owners who suffer from sleepless nights, wondering whether they might end up with burns as their cars spontaneously combust. Not only that, General Motors went ahead to introduce a fair bit of enhancements to the Volt's battery coolant system, keeping their fingers crossed that everything would turn out all right after that.

Judging by the photographs, you wouldn't think they were faces of people - but more like a fancy mosaic design instead.
