Plane crash at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan caught on dash cam

Plane crash at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan caught on dash cam

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World out there, folks. As if you needed further evidence to support the claim, the video posted above is sure to reinforce the notion that the recently ubiquitous dash cam craze in other parts of the world seemingly captures every moment of life. And, as we've seen in the past, life can be scary at times. A Boeing 747 operated by National Airlines crashed immediately after takeoff from Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan yesterday, claiming the lives of all seven crewmembers on board, each of them a US citizen.

Metal-alloy chassis for the HTC M4 rumor suggests an HTC One Mini launch in late Q2

The HTC One may be the only true flagship device from HTC in 2013, but that doesn't mean they company is going to sit back and hope for the best. A new report from DigiTimes claims that Catcher Technology will be the exclusive supplier of the metal-alloy chassis for the upcoming HTC M4. Catcher Technology estimates that it will ship 700,000 metal chassis for the HTC M4 in second quarter, suggesting that the HTC M4 could launch in less than two months. According to previous  reports, Leaked images of the HTC M4 depicted a device clad in soft-touch polycarbonate with a metal ring around the camera, reminiscent of last year's HTC One X.

SoundBender iPad Sound Amplifier review

SoundBender iPad Sound Amplifier review

I love watching video and listening to podcasts and books on my iPad. It's so much more portable and useful than my MacBooks have been over the years (which is to say it doesn't have a hinge and require me to figure out what to do with that keyboard while watching!) The constant drawback to iPads, however, is sound. Specifically, getting enough of it in all but the quietest of rooms. A new, non-powered solution has recently come onto the scene, and I was fortunate enough to get one for review. It's called the SoundBender from Simply Amazing, LLC.

Stepping up to all-wheel drive will see that number jump to $38,485, and both variants get their grunt from a 204-horsepower, 2.5-liter V6. Going for the IS350 with its 306-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 will cost your $39,465, and adding all-wheel drive to that equation will see the bottom line jump to $41,700.

Report says Windows Phone beating Android in US lately, but does it mean anything?

Report says Windows Phone beating Android in US lately, but does it mean anything?

When reports about mobile growth surface it's easy to construe facts or twist them to make certain companies look good. That's why we felt it was important to take Kantar WorldPanel's latest results regarding mobile OS growth in the United States with a grain of salt. According to them, Windows Phone has been outgunning Android in the United States market as of late, with Microsoft's mobile OS growing 1.5% from February to March while Android dropped 1.9%. For starters, it's worthy to note that Android still holds a very commanding lead over the rest, as it accounted for 49.3% of sales in March.

Android's lead designer: Facebook Home a great achievement in design

Android's lead designer: Facebook Home a great achievement in design

When we first saw Facebook Home for Android, many of us were taken aback. It wasn't necessarily that the experience was ugly, but it took over our phones in a way that just wasn't appealing. It got rid of the very things that made Android, well, Android. Widgets and folders? Gone. Your notifications? Hidden until you instruct them to come into view (which, honestly, some folks already do through the use of custom launchers and ROMs anyway).
