Protect and Customize Your Devices with DomeSkin

Protect and Customize Your Devices with DomeSkin

When you get a new gadget, you have to decide how you're going to protect it.  Cases can provide good protection, but they add bulk and completely obscure the device.  Those thin skins – clear or with a design – add some scratch protection, but some of them can be as slippery as the device itself.  DomeSkins are different than other skins;  they have a padded, 3-D profile.  They come in a variety of patterns and colors, so you can customize your device to suit your style.  They use a 3M adhesive that comes off easily and leaves no sticky residue.

If you thought the AQUOS 102SH was the only thing Sharp had up its sleeve, guess again. The company looks to make an even bigger splash in Japan with the announcement of the Sharp AQUOS 104SH. While the manufacturer has room for improvement in the naming department, they don't miss a step when it comes to the hardware found inside their latest creation. First and foremost, the AQUOS 104SH promises to be Sharp's first handset running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. But that is merely the icing on top of a big piece of cake sporting a 4.5-inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4460 CPU, and a 12.1MP camera.

Skype in-flight video call made on MSNBC TV

Skype in-flight video call made on MSNBC TV

Ever received or made a Skype video call to somebody who was on an airplane. I can't say I have, but the folks over at MSNBC have, in a news segment shot yesterday. Time magazine's senior political analyst, Mark Halperin, called up the studio via Skype while in the middle of a red eye flight, and gave his opinion on Chris Christie's speech through a video call. Not to mention, he was in the plane's lavatory as well. The quality of the call was pretty good, with the audio coming in loud and clear, not to mention the video wasn't too shabby either. I guess this shows that even Skype calls on the plane are actually quite feasible.

2012 Lotus Exige S squares off for The Duel

Lotus has rolled out a new trailer for the company's Exige S. Those who are easily tired by flashy cuts and metaphor may want to skip this one, as it pits the supercharged V6 hellion against a boxer. No, not a Porsche or Subaru boxer engine. An actual boxer, as in, a pugilist. Our brows may be a bit too low to understand the concept at work here, but we appreciate a good advertisement when we see one. With plenty of tire smoke, lots of doughnuts and dramatic shots of the black body work on the Exige S, the clip hits all the right notes.
The Lotus Exige S packs 346 horsepower in a 2,380-pound track-bred package.

It may not be addressing complaints from those bemoaning the need for a Facebook account in the first place, but Spotify is now at least giving folks an easy way to listen to what they like without broadcasting it to their friends. That comes in the form of a new "private listening" mode, which can easily be turned on and off at will - the other option is to unlink your Facebook account completely.

Whenever you hear word that a phone has “4G” connectivity – it would be best to do more research on the handset and see whether it is just “marketing 4G” being bandied about, or the real deal. Well, you can always check our previous guide to 4G for more details, but what we've learned is this – a China Unicom executive confirmed that Apple's iPhone 5 will sport 4G connectivity in the form of 21Mbps HSPA+ technology. While technically there is still a cable involved, which connects the wireless charging pad (dubbed the Energy Stand) to a power source, the iPad 2 itself is not connected by any cable at all, which means there shouldn't be an occasion where tripping over the cable will cause your iPad 2 to come crashing down with it.

We humans are a nostalgic lot – otherwise, why do we maintain heritage sites, keep diaries, snap photos and record videos. When it comes to growing up, we tend to have had our fair share of favorite video games, never mind that they were played in 8-bit graphics back then – we had our imagination to rely on those pixelized worlds. Well, for the younger generation who grew up during the PS2 era, surely they would have heard of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory before. We're glad to say that you can now play the role of Sam Fisher all over again with HD resolution graphics – and listen, even 3D.

BMW ConnectedDrive reads aloud your social network updates

Drinking (alcohol) and driving do not mix, and another element that does not jive with driving includes speaking on your phone or checking up on emails, text messages and social network updates. BMW intends to safeguard the driver and occupants from any mishaps by working with text-to-speech specialists Nuance so that you can keep abreast of what's happening to your social networks without having to divide your eye's attention equally between the phone's screen and the road.

Spotify on forcing Facebook upon users: 'it seemed logical'

Spotify wants to be the next big thing in music, but a change to its service has created quite the uproar online: users can only get their Spotify on if they have a Facebook account. Of course, we knew this was in the works from the time it opened its doors to all Americans, but netizens were sufficiently vocal in their disdain for the change so as to elicit a response from the company. According to Spotify, most of its users are already on the Social Network - plus the service uses Facebook on the backend for its social features - so it made sense to integrate the logins.
