Lamborghini recalls Aventador over headlamp problem

Lamborghini recalls Aventador over headlamp problem

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a bulletin over a recall for up to 144 examples of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador here in the States. The affected models, built from July 15, 2011 to April 20, 2012 have headlights that apparently don't conform to US federal motor vehicle safety standards. The lamps can be aimed horizontally but not vertically, which can reduce their usefulness for the driver and blind oncoming traffic if aimed improperly.

Irish government drops Blackberry in favor of iPads

The other day we reported that the US Immigrations had decided to pilot run RIM's Blackberry 10 program, although this was two months after they had dropped RIM and gone with the iPhone. Now it looks like the Irish government is following suit in which the Teachta Dála's in the lower house of the Oireachtas will be dropping Blackberrys in favor of the iPad. So what's the reason behind this drop. Is it because the iPad is more popular, or they no longer believe in the capabilities of Blackberry.

Keep your key safe in a gokey bracelet

I still see lots of those silicone bands around people's wrists, but I haven't seen one like the gokey.  This band opens up so you can slide the top of your house or locker key inside one end, then you wrap the band around your wrist and close it over the rest of your key.  Now your key is safely with you while you ride a bike, swim, jog, play tennis, or just lay in the sun.  The gokey is available in three sizes to fit wrists measuring 5.6″ to 7.8″.

Freedom i-Connex Combi iPad case with Bluetooth keyboard review

The Freedom i-Connex Combi iPad case and stand with Bluetooth keyboard solves three common needs for either a heavy user of the iPad 2 or newer  user. In one package, you get a “smart cover” that also can contort into a stand in either portrait or landscape orientations, a heavy-duty, rubberized case, and a decent but compact rechargeable Bluetooth keyboard that stows in the case when not in use. You could probably assemble a suite of products that would do each of these functions, but in this case the i-Connex Combi is greater than the sum of its parts.

Participant claims Fox News Denver rigged marijuana driving test results

In May of this year, KDVR, Fox News 31 of Denver, Colorado aired a segment in which it tested the effects of marijuana on drivers. At the time of the story, Colorado lawmakers narrowly voted down a law that would have made it illegal to drive with more than five nanograms per milliliter of the drug in your system. So, to determine the effects of driving under the influence of marijuana, the local Fox affiliate gathered up several volunteers, with ages ranging from early-20's to mid-60's, and asked them to hop into a driving simulator after smoking pot. Once participant was not convinced of the news station's objectivity.

NHTSA says 2011 traffic deaths declined nearly 2%, but on upswing in 2012

After a new analysis of 2011's traffic fatality numbers, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that there were even fewer deaths than previously reported: 32,367 are reported to have died on the road last year, a 1.9-percent drop compared to 2010. Previously the drop had been reported as 1.7 percent. Even more eye-popping, that number is down 26 percent compared to the number of deaths in 2005, and 2011 saw the the lowest number of fatalities since 1949. We did drive less last year, but mileage decreased by only 1.2 percent so it can't account for all of the difference.

You can see them swipe, enlarge and flip images and even video on their screen, which most likely is a MultiTouch screen. But one thing news reporters have succumbed to when using MultiTouch screens is the inability to use them properly due to the extremely bright studio lights shining on them and the screen. That will be a thing of the past now that the company is introducing its Hybrid Tracking technology.
