Quick Review: Affordable and Unique TPU/Hard Plastic Combo Case For The Epic 4G Touch [Video]

When it comes to my Android device. I think of it as my baby. Like any good mother, I want to keep it safe, and I find pleasure in dressing it up in various outfits (cases). Seeing how the last case for my Sprint Epic 4G Touch was feeling stale, I decided to shop around the internets for a new outfit. That’s when I came across this generic case featuring a TPU rubber/hard transparent plastic combo. I’ve seen it pop up in my searches a few times and in various colors. “What the hell,” I thought, “I’ll give it a shot.”

One thing you should know about me: I’m a cheap bastard. It’s true.

Bentley to show SUV concept unaltered in Beijing

Automotive News reports Bentley is staying the course with the company's EXP 9 F SUV Concept. The ultra-luxury automaker plans to bring the vehicle to the Beijing Motor Show exactly as it appeared at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, despite the fact that the concept didn't exactly debut to resounding acclaim. Critics described the design as awkward and unbecoming of nameplate like Bentley, but the automaker says it wants to vet the design in as many markets as possible before finalizing the exterior.

Samsung responds to copycat allegations

If you've been following the tech news, chances are you might have come across the patent war that Apple and Samsung are involved in which has pretty much been each company alleging that the other has infringed upon their patents. As far as Apple's complaints are concerned, the initial dispute was that some of Samsung's products were too similar to Apple's iPhone and iPad products, a sentiment at which Samsung's vice president of design, Lee Minhyouk, seems to take particular offense at. “I've made thousands of sketches and hundreds of prototype products [for the Galaxy range].

PSXPeria Lets You Rip and Convert Your Old PS1 Games For Use On Xperia Play

As a self-proclaimed gaming addict, one of the problems I've noticed throughout the years is that I often don't have the time I once had back in my high school days, to just sit down and do some serious console gaming. This has left me with a surplus of great titles dating all the way back to the PS1, that I've been meaning to play, but really just never had the time (seeing how I'm always out and about). Titles like Strider 2, Tomba!, Final Fantasy 9 or Vagrant Story are just a few that I wish I could revisit and play in their entirety.

Unnamed Samsung exec says quad-core Exynos inside Galaxy S III, LTE on-chip

An unnamed Samsung exec hinted to the Korea Times that its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S III, will include a next-gen quad-core Exynos chip that will incorporate LTE and WCDMA radios. Of course, such a revelation shouldn't come as too much of a surprise since both its predecessors were built around home grown silicon… at least originally. According to the source, Sammy is trying to become more self-reliant and distance itself from Qualcomm which has provided single-chip solutions for a number of the manufacturer's high-end handsets.

Windows 8 will be ‘retina' display friendly

We suppose Microsoft didn't have to make Windows 8 play nice with the new rash of extremely pixel-dense displays. But, that would be tantamount to OS suicide. So, we're not particularly surprised to hear that the latest and greatest Windows will support resolutions up to 2560 x 1440 on screens as small as 10.1 inches. That's a pretty impressive 291 pixels per inch. Of course, it's not quite as simple as it sounds. While in an ideal world, every UI element would be resolution independent, that's simply not the case and the infrastructure isn't there to support it.

Mashable recently posted an article detailing the experience of a woman who had her iPhone 4 “burst into smoke” while she was sleeping in a hotel room. The iPhone 4 was plugged into an Apple charger on the nightstand next to the bed when early in the morning she woke up to a strange smell and noticed sizzling and popping noises from the phone. As the room filled up with smoke, she used her laptop case to pick up the phone and throw it into the hotel room sink.

Study Says Ad-Enabled Android Apps Drastically Affect Battery Life

Many of us don't care for ads because they tend to get in the way, but a new study suggests you should be worried about your battery life more than anything. A research team from Purdue University and Microsoft shows that apps with ads are probably responsible for about 70% of those apps' battery usage. The increased usage seems to be due to an ad's necessity to gather user metrics, geographical location and downloading the ad itself. They found this behavior in Angry Birds free edition, FreeChess and the New York Times app.

But these issues aren't isolated to apps with ads, the team says.

As you can see in the rendering above, the watch sports a face with an arrow that moves in a circle much like an analog watch. The arrows will be used to point towards the minutes which are depicted by the outer ring of the watch which will also be used to tell the seconds.
