digiZoid ZO2 “Personal Subwoofer” Review

digiZoid ZO2 “Personal Subwoofer” Review

Two years ago, I reviewed the digiZoid ZO “personal subwoofer” (see related posts) and absolutely loved it.  In short, the digiZoid ZO was a portable, personal headphone accessory that boosted low frequencies to give that fuller, richer sound that many of us enjoy.  I love the original digiZoid zo so much, it singlehandedly ruined music listening for me WITHOUT it.  What does second version ZO2 audio enhancement accessory bring to the table.
The digiZoid ZO2 comes in a box about the size of a DVD package.

Inside, you'll find the ZO2, a mini-USB charging cable, a 6.5 inch long audio cable, and a color quick start guide.

Verizon lights up additional LTE markets ahead of iPhone 5 launch

Verizon lights up additional LTE markets ahead of iPhone 5 launch

. As consumers across the U.S. patiently await the arrival of the iPhone 5, Verizon Wireless (VZ) on Thursday flipped the LTE switch on in 19 new markets across the country. In addition, the nation's largest carrier also expanded its high-speed network in 20 existing markets. Verizon's 4G LTE network now covers more than 75% of the U.S. population and has more coverage than all other U.S. carriers combined. The company intends to blanket more than 400 markets throughout the country with its 4G LTE network by the end of 2012.

GM promises new Buick Regal and LaCrosse along with new GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon in next 12 months

GM promises new Buick Regal and LaCrosse along with new GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon in next 12 months

While Chevrolet and Cadillac are the defining brands for General Motors, Buick and GMC seem to be the middle siblings of the auto giant and, therefore, are often overlooked and underappreciated. This might be changing over the next 12 months, though, as these brands are set to receive nine new or refreshed models in this timeframe. The sole new model to join the lineup is the sub-$25,000 Buick Encore crossover, but the Regal and LaCrosse are all getting mid-cycle updates at some point over the next year, not to mention the refreshed Enclave that we've already seen.

Google Maps for Android update brings your full location search history to handhelds

Google Maps for Android update brings your full location search history to handhelds

While Google Maps may have found itself on the outside looking in on the just-released iOS 6, it's got a fresh update for Android devices that makes sure any locations you've searched are right at your fingertips. Rolling out now in Google Play, it includes results from your search and directions history (whether on your phone or on a PC that you were logged in to) whenever you start a new search, and in the search or directions tab under My Places. The other tweak noted in the changelog is the ability to zoom with just one finger — double tap the map then hold down your finger and slide.

Windows Phone companion surfaces for Windows 8, could take over syncing duties

It's tough to ignore that the Zune era at Microsoft is quickly winding to a close. That doesn't mean you'll necessarily be out of options for syncing a Windows Phone's contents by the time the Zune desktop app fades away, however. A tip to The Verge has shown a companion app for Windows 8 users that will reportedly load the first time a Windows Phone 8 device syncs up, giving a fully Metro-friendly place to transfer any media. Windows 7 would get its own parallel, just in case some of us aren't willing or able to upgrade our PCs in concert.

Bluetooth SIG releases certifications for fitness devices aimed at runners and cyclists

Fitness gadgets are great, but you never quite know what you're going to get when it comes to calorie counts, or a reading of how many miles you've run. That could change, though, thanks to a set of standards the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is adopting with regard to fitness devices. These two certifications, which apply to running and cycling gadgets, respectively, affect the way data (e.g., cadence, speed, distance) is transmitted to paired devices like smartphones, sports watches and cycling computers.

Samsung Galaxy Note II to cost €640 at Vodafone

Samsung Galaxy Note II to cost €640 at Vodafone

Yesterday, when Samsung announced the new Galaxy Note II, it didn't say how much the device would cost. Luckily, Vodafone Germany has apparently spilled the beans on the handset's price. The image seen below clearly shows that the Galaxy Note II will cost €639.90 off contract. That's the equivalent of about $802 - however, the price for the US market will most probably not be that high.

The Galaxy Note II should become available around the world starting the net few months, becoming Samsung's first device to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from day one.

PSA: iOS 6 expected to arrive at 1PM Eastern, get your downloads ready

Apple tends to release new iOS upgrades like clockwork, which gives us a good indicator of when it should push iOS 6 to early adopters: 1PM Eastern, or 10AM Pacific and 5PM GMT. At that point, you can likely get your turn-by-turn and Passbook fixes through at least iTunes. The real question is whether the upgrade will be available directly from an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch - we've seen delta updates arrive over the air for iOS 5, after all, but not major OS revisions.

2013 Honda CR-Z gets shadowy preview ahead of Paris

Honda has dropped another teaser image for the upcoming 2013 CR-Z, a model set to debut at the fast-approaching Paris Motor Show. While there are few real details to go with the shadowy hybrid image, Honda says its updated CR-Z will receive power bumps for both its gasoline engine and its electric motor. Said output enhancements will not compromise fuel economy or emissions performance, either.
This dead-on front image of the car makes plain a few of the styling changes, too. The new CR-Z is running a strip of LED lighting under its HID headlights.

BMW developing infrared heating system for Evs

BMW developing infrared heating system for Evs

Fans. We don't need no stinkin' fans. Last week, BMW discussed an infrared heating system for vehicle occupants that would pretty drastically cut energy use compared to traditional systems and thereby extend the range of its battery-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles.
The German automaker, which introduced the idea at a recent Innovation Day, explained a system that would see panels that give off thermal radiation mounted in footwells and on door panels. Besides the energy savings, the system would be silent and could deliver cabin heat within a minute and would have no need for fans or air vents.

Brains scanned for potential battlefield threats

Brains scanned for potential battlefield threats

Things seem to get better and better for soldiers on the battlefield as more and more technology start to take their rightful place. The Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) recently combined soldiers brains to technology successfully, where a massive 120-megapixel camera as well as multiple computers running complex cognitive algorithms, known as a “cybernetic hivemind”, will work in tandem to sort out potential threats on the battlefield in double quick time. Basically, a soldier will remain seated in front of a computer monitor while having an EEG strapped to his head.

Bio-Retina make the blind see again

Bio-Retina make the blind see again

Don't you find it interesting that an Israeli company known as Nano Retina has come up with the Bio-Retina, where this small chip might make the blind see again. Now we only need to heal lepers and make the lame walk, and the hat-trick of miracles would be complete. I would not mind water being turned into wine either, but it would be best to remain sober while at work. According to Nano Retina's managing director Ra'Anan Gefen, this particular Bio-Retina chip is capable of restoring lost function in the eyes of those who suffer from retinal degeneration, which is one of the primary causes of blindness.

Another day, another tablet makes its way to the scene, although this is slightly different from the rest by virtue of being a hybrid slate. We have seen the Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 drop by the FCC sometime in the middle of June, so that alone gave the game away that the device itself should be well on its way. Well, fast forward to IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany, and we have the official announcement of the Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 hybrid slate that first appeared to the masses at CES 2012 as the IdeaTab S2.

Samsung Galaxy Note II for Sprint hands-on

Samsung Galaxy Note II for Sprint hands-on

All we know so far is that it's possibly coming to US shores at some point in November, but the good news is that Sprint brought along one of the world's most famous phablets to a press event in New York City and, better yet, we got to play with it for a little while. Yes, we're talking about the Galaxy Note II. Looks-wise, the Now Network's flavor of that 5.5-inch behemoth hasn't exactly changed much from the unit(s) we landed our hands on when it was first unveiled to the world, meaning there's no "Sprint" branding anywhere to on the plastic shell - at least for now, and, frankly, we kind of hope it stays this way.

Nintendo won't sell Wii U GamePad in America until 2013

Nintendo won't sell Wii U GamePad in America until 2013

. When Nintendo (NTDOY) launches the Wii U on November 18th in North America, please try not to fling your GamePad controller across the room or break it. Nintendo of America president and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed to GameInformer that the company will not be selling standalone Wii U GamePads until 2013. There are two reasons for this: first, there are no launch window titles that will support multiple Wii U GamePads, only ones built for use with one Wii U GamePad, up to three Wii Remotes and the Wii U pro controller (Example: New Super Mario Bros. Wii U). Second, it's not a cheap accessory by any means.
