Next generation Tweetdeck app in the works

. Twitter's latest innovations are not everyone's cup of tea, especially if you are an avid tweeter. But it seems like the popular social network is bringing some goodness for those that prefer the older interface. After acquiring Tweetdeck last year, the company has recently decided to release a new version of the Twitter client for Android and iOS.
We have no official details just yet. Tweetdeck has started looking for new team members, though. The job listing was posted recently, stating the following:

The TweetDeck team, working from London, is looking for new team members to work on our cutting edge Android app.

Need something to sate that Windows 8-lust Microsoft stirred up with its Consumer Preview. Then take a gander at this in-development vehicle control app shown off at the company's Redmond campus as part of this year's Worldwide Public Safety Symposium. Developed by Modularis, an outfit known for their enterprise, federal and OEM automation solutions, the Metro-style application turns its host slate into a virtual controller, granting users remote access to door locks, sirens, lights, as well as the ability to pull cloud-based data - courtesy of Windows Azure - from multiple cars to determine GPS location.

If This is a Sample Photo from the Samsung Galaxy S III, I'd Be Disappointed

A photo has hit Picasa with some interesting EXIF data. It claims that photo was taken with a Samsung GT-I9300, the model number believed to be reserved for the yet-to-be-announced Samsung Galaxy S3. The camera is 8.1 megapixels. It’s hard to put a ton of faith into EXIF data so I’m having a hard time getting excited. And if this photo is anything to go by (that’s if it’s real, of course), that is one sorry camera on the Galaxy S III. My original Galaxy S took better indoor photos and I have a hard time imagining that Samsung would regress in this area. Take it for what you will.

Kainy remote desktop app brings PC games to Android (video)

Watching Skyrim run smooth and sweet on a Tegra 3 slate did a lot to re-kindle our excitement for remote gaming on mobile devices. Hoping to cash in on that buzz, a $5 app called "Kainy" has appeared on Google Play that promises to bring PC games to Android handsets at up to 60fps with customizable control interfaces, 100 preset templates and accelerometer control. The demo video after the break is full of fast cuts that make it hard to judge performance, and user reviews suggest Kainy may prioritize lag-reduction over resolution with some ugly results, but then these are still early days.

Heather Peters really, really doesn't want anyone to settle with Honda. Peters is the woman who went her own way earlier this year, suing Honda in small claims court in Torrance, CA instead of joining a class-action lawsuit against the automaker over allegations that the company promoted misleading fuel economy numbers for the Civic Hybrid, model years 2003 to 2009. She was recently awarded $9,867 in damages, significantly more than the $100-$200 the 200,000 Civic Hybrid owners involved in the class action suit are expected to net (their lawyers stand to make $8.5 million).

Lumia 610 to ship with internet sharing enabled, smartphone first-timers to be none the wiser

Wireless tethering, free of any carrier-imposed data shackles, is something of a reward for the well-informed smartphone buyer. Save for a sprinkling of Android handsets that natively include the feature - specifically, Google's Nexus line - only Windows Phone Mango offers users that same option, should the operator and OEM choose to enable it. So, it wasn't much of a surprise when Nokia unleashed its Lumia 800 and 710 to the market without internet sharing switched on. Their lil' bro the 610, on the other hand, stands poised to be the first to offer that WiFi hotspot access right out of the box.

Sneaky YouTube Update Enables HD Playback for Pre-Honeycomb Devices (Galaxy Note)

Okay, so the YouTube app has been updated in the Google Play store today and this one was a little more sneaky than most. Seeing how the official YouTube app is already installed on your device, jumping into your apps list wont show you that an update is available. No, sir. You're going to have to update this one manually by searching for the app yourself, and clicking update. Wasn't so hard now, was it?

The update will bring the YouTube app up-to-date with version 2.4.4 (previously, 2.3.4) and although it doesn't seem like all that much has changed, apparently, there is a new “HD option” for applicable pre-Honeycomb devices.

It was previously announced that Monopoly would be getting a World of Warcraft makeover sometime this May, and it looks like the folks over at Kotaku have received some additional details about the game. Yesterday they unveiled the currency that will be used in the game, and we're sad to inform you the game won't be played with gold/silver/copper coins. Printed bills will be used, with each note featuring an important World of Warcraft character - one neutral, three Alliance and three Horde heroes. Familiar faces such as Thrall and Sylvanas Windrunner are present, along with the Pandaren Brewmaster, Chen Stormstout.

Modena welcomes new museum at birthplace of Enzo Ferrari

The Italian city of Modena stands as a veritable mecca for automobile enthusiasts. Not only does it serve as the home of both Maserati and Pagani, but it was also the birthplace of one Enzo Ferrari. While the automaker and racing team that carry his name are situated in nearby Maranello, where the company also operates its own museum, a new foundation has started up in Modena, dedicated to preserving the memory of the legendary industrialist and racer. That organization is the Fondazione Casa Natale Enzo Ferrari, which has acquired the house where Ferrari was raised, turning it into a museum of its own.

Android Pattern Lock Foils FBI's Attempt to Search Criminal's Phone

While I think we'd all agree that pattern unlock isn't the most desirable method for locking your phone down if you need the absolute highest degree of security, it appears that it has foiled someone. That someone happens to be the FBI. A pimp named Dante Dears was asked to turn in a cellphone that he once admitted never existed. The FBI, eager to find information that could help take him down, found that he'd locked his phone using pattern unlock, a method to unlock an Android phone using a pattern drawn on a 3×3 grid.

. A Dutch judge on Wednesday ruled that the iPhone 4S does not infringe Samsung's patents, Dutch website Tweakers reported. The Hague court has not yet ruled whether Apple's earlier models and iPad 2 tablet infringe the vendor's patents due to different implementations of 3G technology that may be protected. Samsung accused Apple's iPhone 4S of infringing its industry essential 3G patent, althoughร‚ Qualcomm already licensed the technology for the chip, which is found within Apple's handset.ร‚ Apple's earlier devices, however, use 3G chips supplied by Intel subsidiary Infineon, which reportedly never licensed the technology from Samsung.

Nokia's Stephen Elop: Dual-core, quad-core รข€“ just a waste of battery. Smoked by Windows Phone proves it

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop thinks that dual-core and quad-core processors are just a waste of battery, and that to the consumers they aren't all that useful. This is something which, in his opinion, has been proved by ‘competitions' such as Smoked by Windows Phone, or the similar Blown Away by Lumia organized by Nokia itself and not Microsoft. These marketing campaigns/competitions aim to prove that Windows Phones (all using single-core processors) are faster at day-to-day tasks than the competition (which is mainly using multi-core CPUs for its high-end offerings these days).

While there's been plenty of legal wrangling between Apple and Samsung in Federal courtrooms lately, it's been awhile since we've had news from the parties' parallel proceedings occurring in the ITC. Last week, Apple received a favorable outcome when the ITC issued its claim construction order, siding with Apple's interpretations of two patents - for those who aren't familiar, claim construction is the process by which the judge determines the meaning of specific terms in the claims, and it often has great influence on findings of infringement (or non-infringement).
