Patrick The Robotic Butt Helps Aspiring Doctors Learn How To Perform A Prostate Exam

Now this is a robot that might change the way that doctors are trained to perform a prostate exam in the future – by coming in the form of a plastic posterior that is hooked up to a video screen. In fact, this robot has even been given the name of "Patrick", and Patrick would remain bent over a desk. Something tells me that first time medical students who lay their eyes on this will probably stifle a giggle or two, but it is all serious business in reality. Specially designed to train doctors-to-be on how to perform a prostate exam on a patient, Dr.

NEC PaPeRo Petit Announced

NEC PaPeRo Petit Announced

NEC's PaPeRo robot is one cute little bugger, and we have seen our fair share of him in action before in the past, where he has received periodic upgrades as time progresses. Perhaps it is time for a change in the PaPeRo line. NEC thinks so, too, by launching an initiative that they call the Papero Partner Program, which will enlist the help of research and business partners to assist in the development of apps, as well as to distribute the robot to end users. Not only that, it was also accompanied by the NEC PaPeRo Petit's debut.

Fiat retraces its roots with 1957 Edition 500

A car like the Fiat 500 is nothing if not retro, but the Italian automaker is making it all the more so with the 1957 Edition seen here. Marking 57 years since the iconic Cinquecento launched in 1957, this new special-edition 500 upgrades on the model's Lounge trim level with such unique touches as throwback 16-inch wheels, vintage-style badges on the nose and tail, and an interior decked out in brown leather with ivory trim and gray door panels. It comes in either white, light green or the baby blue pictured here, the latter two colors distinguished by contrasting white mirrors and roof.

Digg iOS App Updated With Digg Video Support

Digg iOS App Updated With Digg Video Support

Digg announced its latest service, Digg Video, last week that would help bring all of the most viral videos on the Internet into one easy-to-find location. Users of Digg's iOS application will now be able to get in on the Digg Video goodness as the company has released an update that now supports their latest service. As Digg explained previously when they announced the launch of Digg Video, the way the company populates videos is by seeing just how popular they are across Facebook, Twitter and Digg's own service. Today's update makes the Digg iOS experience pretty much identical to the web version, which is certainly a good thing.

Blizzard Explains Why There Will Be No Offline Mode For Diablo 3

Blizzard Explains Why There Will Be No Offline Mode For Diablo 3

While Blizzard has pretty much introduced Battle.net to most of its games, they never really made it a requirement for gamers to stay connected, at least until StarCraft 2 where it became a requirement. The feature then made its way onto Diablo 3 which was pretty controversial since prior to Diablo 3, gamers would be able to play offline in Diablo 2, or play with friends via TCP/IP instead of Battle.net, meaning that their experience would not be at the mercy of Blizzard's servers. Unfortunately if you were hoping that Blizzard would eventually listen and give in to the demands of their players for an offline mode, you'd be out of luck.

Ski Safari update brings cloud game saves via Google Play Games

It was back in May during Google's Nexus 7 (2013)/Chromecast event that the internet giant took the wraps off Android 4.3 and Google Play Games. A new set of APIs for developers, Google Play Games allowed game makers to incorporate new features like multiplayer matchups, leaderboards, trophies and achievements, and best of all: the backing up of game saves to the cloud. The single most convenient feature of Google Play Games, we were hyped at the idea of taking our game progress with us as we moved from our smartphones to our tablets, the only problem is months down the road, we've yet to see game developers take advantage game save backups.

HP Chromebook 11 Being Yanked From Best Buy Shelves And Elsewhere

Just last month Google announced a new Chromebook, the HP Chromebook 11. It has an 11.6 inch IPS display, dualcore Samsung Exynos processor, 2GB RAM and a price tag of $279. Google touted the product as an ultra-affordable laptop which is also small and light. Powered by Chrome OS, it came with 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years, which would have been a life saver given the fact that the laptop only has 16GB of local storage. Sales of the Chromebook have apparently been stopped and no reason has surfaced as yet.

With the Nexus 7 (2012x2013) and Nexus 10 now receiving their Android 4.4 KitKat updates over the air, some of you might notice that your homescreen is just a tad different than what we saw on the Nexus 5. Specifically, the absence of the Google Experience Launcher (or as I refer to it, the Google Now launcher). Looks like Google is pulling the switch-a-roo, opting for the good ‘ol fashioned 5-screened layout in the Nexus 7 and 10. Gone are GEL's infinite homescreen pages and trademark transparent app drawer and system bars.

Rolls-Royce Phantom to soldier on through 2020?

Rolls-Royce Phantom to soldier on through 2020?

The more a car costs, the less frequently it's replaced – usually. Take, for example, the Bugatti Veyron. It's one of the most expensive cars on the market, and it's been there for eight years now. Eleven years passed in between the launch of the Ferrari Enzo and that of its successor LaFerrari. Now comes word that the Rolls-Royce Phantom could stick around essentially unchanged until the year 2020.

The report comes from LeftLaneNews, which cites Rolls-Royce communications chief Richard Carter in stating that the Phantom isn't going anywhere fast - despite its massive 6.75-liter V12 engine.

As it stands the exact dates of the camera's launch remains unknown for now, but apparently it should be taking place in the first half of 2014.

Paul Branstad loves the shape and purity of the Series 1 Jaguar E-Type, produced from 1961 to 1968, but appreciates the longer length of the Series 3 V12 model, which affords occupants a more comfortable space in which to enjoy long trips. So when Branstad brought his damaged left-hand-drive 1968 roadster from its home in the US to Classic Motor Cars in the UK for a restoration, he had a special request: restore his car, but make it a bit longer. "This is something that we have never done before.

2015 Audi S3 Sedan

2015 Audi S3 Sedan

For the last few years, Audi has been publicly toying with building a successor to its Ur-Quattro, a model still glowing in a gritty patina of motorsports glory decades after it left the scene. If anything, the rally car's halo has burned brighter as Audi has matured into a world luxury superpower. Since 2010, the German automaker has shown two different concept cars that attempted to re-bottle the legend's lightning, and it's still trying to figure out whether to market a production model.

Sony Wants To Sell 3 Million PS4 Units Globally By Year-End

Back in September, Sony had said they plan on selling a total of 5 million PlayStation 4 consoles by the end of its fiscal year, which is a number we could certainly see it doing, as long as the stars align just right. It seems the company has plans equally as big for this year as they are saying they'd like to sell a total of 3 million units of its PlayStation 4 worldwide by the end of this year. Sony U.S.

Invisible bike helmet promises to save your hair and your head

What's the worst part about riding a bicycle. It's definitely not the fuel savings, we hope it's not the extra exercise, and, for some brave riders, it's not the ability to slot through gridlocked traffic. We're going to go out on a limb and say that donning a helmet for the ride is one of the worst aspects of cycling; people just don't like to do it. And despite bicycles predating cars by more than a half a century, there still isn't a good solution for head protection that avoids dreaded helmet hair.

Europe's flagship luxury sedans don't go through their lifecycles quite as quickly as other models need to, but with the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class hitting the road, Jaguar must feel it's time for a little update for its XJ sedan. And as these spy shots demonstrate, that's just what it has in store. Falling firmly in the subtle-facelift category (as opposed to the full refresh), the placement of the camouflage on this new XJ appears to be hiding new fascias front and rear.

Just what is EA's biggest mobile launch to date. That would happen to be Plants vs Zombies 2, which so happened to hit the Android platform not too long ago. Case in point, EA's FIFA 14 is proud to have achieved the 26 million combined downloads mark ever since it was launched last month as a free-to-play title.

The beauty of trading card games, such as Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering, is that they were portable sources of entertainment where you could put a deck in your pocket and play with your friends anywhere and anytime. Oddly enough Blizzard's Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, a digital collectible card game, was originally announced for Mac, PC, and the iPad, but the good news is that if you don't own any of those devices or were looking for a more portable and mobile solution, you're in luck.

Autonomous cars are coming – it's just a matter of when and how quickly they will be adapted by buyers. To help find the answer to the latter, CarInsurance.com polled 2,000 licensed drivers, which returned some very interesting results regarding self-driving cars. Perhaps the most interesting statistic pulled from the study is that one in five drivers (20 percent) are willing to completely give up driving if autonomous cars were currently available.

Have you heard of Goophone. Well if you haven't we can't blame you, but as a refresher, Goophone is a manufacturer who has copied the designs of other manufacturers in the past, such as Apple's iPhone and the HTC One S. While we're not sure how well their products actually perform, it seems that the company has recently expanded its offerings and will now start to offer smartwatches as well, which we guess is understandable given all the hype these days about wearable computing.
