Alleged images and video of budget Apple iPhone emerge

Alleged images and video of budget Apple iPhone emerge

A slew of alleged images and video footage of Apple's much talked about budget iPhone made an appearance on the web. The photos look in line with the leaked colored shells from last week. The images reveal a svelte-looking handset with a 4" display, made of polycarbonate. Despite its plastic nature however, the budget iPhone is said to be impressively well put together.

You can see the purported video of the device below.

Curiously, the photos come courtesy of a well-known Chinese manufacturer of KIRF devices called Techdy, so we urge you to process them with a pinch of salt.

This is the final BMW M3 Coupe

Pour some out for the BMW M3 Coupe, folks. Production of the two-door, fixed-roof M3 has officially ended, and the orange car you see here is the very last one. But we don't just meant the last M3 Coupe of this generation – this is the last M3 Coupe ever, since the next-gen car will launch under the name M4, staying true to BMW's revised nomenclature where coupes and convertibles will use even numbers.

Go camping in an inflatable geodesic dome

Geodesic domes have been used for everything from playground climbing equipment to homes, and now you can camp in one.  The Cave from Heimplanet doesn't use poles, but instead uses inflatable tubes from which you suspend the tent.  It's big enough to sleep 2-3 people, and it has storage pockets built in to help hold their gear.  The tent folds down into a pack 20″ x 12″ x 8″ and weighing 11.5 pounds.  (You'll need to add a pump to your gear to inflate the tent.)  It opens into a structure that covers 54 square feet and is 40″ tall inside.  It costs €549.00 including 19% VAT, which converts to about $707.

Nokia Amber Spotted On Lumia 920

Nokia Amber Spotted On Lumia 920

Sometime near the end of last month, it was reported that the Spanish chapter of Nokia shared that the Nokia Lumia Amber update would be released this coming August, and that information could very well be right on the money. Late last year, we did review the Nokia Lumia 920, and it seems that this particular smartphone was spotted with an early build of the Nokia Amber update as you can see in the video above. Of course, the video was not shot in the highest of resolutions that we would have liked, but at least it is something to work with in the meantime.

Mega Now An App On Google Play

At the beginning of this year, the spiritual successor to Kim Dotcom's Megaupload, simply known as Mega, was unveiled to the masses. Of course, it has taken more than half a year for the cloud storage service that is based in New Zealand to have an official presence on the Android platform as you can now download the official Mega app from Google Play. Kim Dotcom is also pleased to announce that an iOS app is also in the pipeline, where that will be accompanied by a Windows sync client that so happens to be in the final stages of development.

Are you one of those who think that a contact lens is just that – a regular piece of corrective eyewear that is inserted on the outside of your eye so that you can view things clearly without the inconvenience of a pair of glasses. Well, apparently great strides have been made in the world of contact lenses, where a new model is being worked upon so that wearers are able to zoom in as well as zoom out on focal points, just like how one of those terrifying T-800 killer robots in the Terminator movie is able to do.

Fiesta-sized Jeep coming in 2014

We've heard rumors before about a new, baby Jeep to slot above the new-for-2014 Cherokee (pictured) in the automaker's lineup. Now, Edmunds is reporting that the new crossover will arrive sometime in 2014, and will be about the same size as the Ford Fiesta. This currently unnamed vehicle will effectively replace both the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup. Speaking to Edmunds, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that the new, small Jeep will be assembled in Italy and marketed globally beginning sometime next year. Manley did not provide many details on the new model, but did say that it will be 4.2-meters (165 inches) long.

In the past we've seen how the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset can be combined with the Virtuix Omni treadmill to create a more immersive gaming experience. We've seen that setup used while playing Team Fortress 2, and now it looks like it has been modded so that it can be used to play Minecraft as well. We have to say that we have never thought that playing Minecraft in this fashion would be possible, but it looks like it is. As to how well it plays, and if it actually enhances the experience rather than being a novelty is really up to the gamer, but either way it looks pretty fun.

Back in March it was reported that the first Samsung Tizen smartphone could be released in Q3 2013. Well the bad news is that if you were looking forward to getting your hands on a Tizen device in say, August, you might be disappointed. According to a report from Korean news website, iNews24, the launch has reportedly been delayed by about two months, pushing the potential release of Samsung's first Tizen device to sometime in October. It does not seem like the delay has anything to do with hardware, but more about its ecosystem and apparently this is due to issues that Samsung is experiencing in developing its own Tizen app store.

BlackBerry recently announced its quarterly fiscal results which missed analysts' estimates. It was believed that the company's new BlackBerry 10 devices had actually performed well in the market, but as it turns out, only 2.7 million units were shipped in the first full quarter in which both the Q10 and Z10 were available. Since then the company's stock has dipped significantly. However, Digitimes reports that BlackBerry's supply chain in Taiwan believes that sales will get better in the second half of this year.
Recently the Canadian manufacturer announced BlackBerry Q5, an entry level BB10 powered device.

Earlier we let you know that HTC started rolling out the update to Android 4.2 for the One. That's good news right there. But if you happen to own an HTC One S, there's not going to be any good news for you from now on. The Taiwanese company has just confirmed today that the One S will receive no further software updates. No Android 4.2, no Sense 5, and nothing else down the road. It's essentially stuck running Android 4.1 for the rest of its life. This handset is less than 18 months old, which makes the decision all the more baffling.

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. Baseball Bat Does Not Cause Pain Despite Hitting Ball Wrongly

Most of us would have kept a baseball bat underneath our beds, as you can never quite tell just when the zombie apocalypse is about to happen, and a weapon that does not run out of ammunition and yet is effective to strike zombies where they hate it most would certainly come in handy. Of course, it could also be used as an item of self-defense to give a nice, good whack across an unwanted intruder's heat to knock him or her out.

Original Super Mario Bros. Reimagined In HD

Original Super Mario Bros. Reimagined In HD

There are some games from yesteryear that get remade into HD, and while this might be a way for a developer or publisher to garner some renewed interest in the game, some gamers might feel that by making the game "HD", it kind of ruins the feel to it. The good thing about the Mario franchise is that for the most part, it has been immensely popular, especially the classic and original Super Mario Bros., which thankfully does not need a HD remake to be fun. But what if Nintendo decided that remaking Super Mario Bros. in HD would be a good idea, what might that look like.

[Opinion] What an ideal smartwatch should be like

[Opinion] What an ideal smartwatch should be like

Smartwatches seem like all the rage right now, and I am extremely excited about the future of them and wearable computing in general. I have spent about a year using the Motorola MOTOACTV, and it has become almost as close to me as my phone. My primary use case for the device is that of a fitness tracking device, but what I really wanted to do was explore the possibilities regarding how such a watch should work. The key advantage that the smartwatch platform brings is giving developers the capability to add another key element to the experience their mobile apps provide.
