Next Kia Sedona minivan spied

After skipping the 2013 model year and returning for 2014, the Kia Sedona is getting a full redesign for 2015, which we see for the first time in these new spy shots. The new Sedona isn't going to look as much like the 2011 KV7 Concept as we had hoped, but we definitely see some key styling cues from the Kia concept minivan. Even though it's covered in heavy camouflage, we can see that some of the KV7's cues on the 2015 Sedona include the vertical front marker lights, the horizontal taillights and the pinched beltline starting at the C-pillar.

Microsoft To Rename SkyDrive Following Court Verdict

Microsoft To Rename SkyDrive Following Court Verdict

You might be familiar with SkyDrive, Microsoft's cloud based data storage. The company has put in a lot of resources in to building up this brand, particularly in the competitive cloud storage niche where you have players like Dropbox and Apple's iCloud. Recently, a UK court gave its verdict on a lawsuit brought by BSkyB, which claimed that Microsoft was infringing on its trademark through the SkyDrive brand. The court ruled in favor of BSkyB. Both companies have now reached a settlement.
Microsoft won't be appealing the court's verdict, meaning that it is going to rename SkyDrive.

Suzuki bringing compact iV-4 to Frankfurt

Even though American Suzuki Motor Corporation filed for bankruptcy last year and stopped selling cars in the US and Canada as part of its reorganization, there are still plenty of countries around the world where Suzuki continues to sell autos. For those markets, the automaker is working on a compact sport-utility vehicle, called the iV-4, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Suzuki says the iV-4 "embodies the basic ruggedness of an SUV," and that its styling is modern and innovative.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!).
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G.

Samsung Smart Watch Could Be The SM-V700

While there were rumors of Apple entering the smart watch market, you know for sure that this is a very profitable sign for other companies who want to ride on the bandwagon that Apple is on, since in recent times, Apple has rarely put a wrong foot in their direction where new products are concerned, what with the iPhone and iPad clearly working up explosive sales figures regardless of the markets that they are launched in.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 leaked again, this time exposes its internals

You may remember only a few weeks ago when we saw a schematics sketch allegedly from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3′s manual. In that same post, we also got a brief look at the device being worked on inside a testing facility. Now we get to see what's inside the darn thing thanks to the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, where one user was able to snap a picture of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (traveling down a toilet?), exposing the device's innards for the world to see. Really, there's not too much revealed in these photos. You may have noticed a very squarish looking body, with distinct sharp corners.

Lack of 35mm film, replacement parts putting hurt on America's drive-ins

Drive-in movie theaters turn 80 years old this summer, and, soon, they might die of old age. There are only 360 drive-in theaters left in the US – down from 4,000 at their peak in 1958 – and the 35-millimeter film projectors that they use to screen movies are quickly losing support from studios, which have switched to digital methods of capturing pictures. Remember the four-foot poles with speakers built in. You'd pull your car up to it, park, and open your windows to listen to the movie. Well, there's only one company left that makes parts for those speakers, and they don't support surround sound.

The scores posted by the potent GPU were pretty impressive, wiping the floor with the devices we have tested so far. Chrysler has some good news and some bad news. First, profits were up 16 percent over the second quarter of 2012, bringing the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based manufacturer $507 million on the back of strong demand for trucks and SUVs (a recurring theme this quarter, particularly in the US). Q2 revenue was up as well, from $16.8 billion in 2012 to $18 billion in 2013. The bad news is that the Pentastar's overall earnings forecast for net income in 2013 has been trimmed from $2.2 billion to between $1.7 and $2.2 billion, according to Automotive News.

Apple's products, whether you love or hate them, are highly desirable and we have heard stories where Apple's retail stores have been robbed. While some robberies are outside jobs, we wouldn't be surprised if some theft occurred internally as well, which is why it isn't surprising to learn that Apple has made it mandatory to check the bags of employees before they go on lunch or end their shift, to make sure that the employees have stolen merchandize or have taken out items without permission, along with contraband.

CarmaRace board game seeks funding on Kickstarter

CarmaRace board game seeks funding on Kickstarter

Automotive geekery isn't just limited to internet forums, dingy garages, or coffee shop parking lots. It extends far beyond that, actually. Board games - and we're talking the complex ones with rulebooks longer than The Grapes Of Wrath, not Chutes and Ladders - are actually a fairly popular outlet for auto enthusiasts. Take the wildly addicting Formula D, for example.
The problem with board games is that they are often too long and complex to be played on a whim. CarmaRace aims to change that, by delivering a game that is both easy to learn and difficult to master, making it a bit like Risk.

Indian Grand Prix in jeopardy?

BBC Sport is reporting that Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One boss and indicted briber, has said the Indian Grand Prix will "probably not" happen in 2014. The race, which takes place at the purpose-built Buddh International Circuit, is in danger due to a combination of reasons, including Ecclestone's desire to move India from its current slot in October to the beginning of the season, in March or April. According to the BBC, this is to accommodate a schedule envisioned by Ecclestone that adds races in Austria, New Jersey and Russia, in addition to the current 19-race calendar.

Seven generations of Passat have graced streets around the world, and today is the long-running Volkswagen's 40th birthday. But there's no question Volkswagen has sold a lot of Passats over the years, with over 20 million produced. VW started delivering the B1-generation Passat on July 25, 1973, and sold it until 1980, when the second generation came out.

There's no way around it, the Blazar seems much like an unofficial followup to Nokia's Play360 speakers - and it's not necessarily a bad thing. Volume is plentiful and clear, however, the loudness-focused voicing leaves mids sounding thin. Its bottom-loaded bass port is great for loads of sub-bass, but the sound simply isn't even across the full range. Our initial concern here is that much smaller speakers, like the Beats Pill, put out a similar quality of audio, making us expect noticeably thicker results from the Blazar.
