Look at what the cat dragged in with the latest Chrome Beta, where the team over at Google have come up with a new and improved Pointer Lock JavaScript API (a.k.a. mouse lock). To put it in plain English, this translates to gamers being able to enjoy superior, or at least, improved (for those who prefer to be less dramatic in their descriptions, of course) mouse control especially when it comes to 3D web apps and games such as first-person shooters.
