Toyota announces new four-cylinder Camry SE Sport

Toyota announces new four-cylinder Camry SE Sport

There are plenty of great reasons to look forward to the upcoming three-day Labor Day weekend, but is a Toyota Camry one of them. While a special-edition Camry might not sound as exciting as the numerous parties or cookouts taking place this weekend, Toyota is giving its dealers a special way to celebrate with the new SE Sport Limited Edition added to the 2012 Camry line equipped with the four-cylinder engine. Essentially, this car is a more attractive value package that combines a few popular options bundled together for a low(er) price.

Samsung Galaxy Note II US launch gets set for October 24

The formal announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the United States just got itself an official date. Samsung sent out seriously suggestive invitations for an event in New York City, which will take place on October 24. As you can see above, the image of an S-Pen in the invitation leaves no room to wonder about what the event will be all about. The Samsung Galaxy Note II will hit a number of US carriers simultaneously - much like the Samsung Galaxy S III did.

We will be covering the event live from the spot, so we'll give you the full scoop on the device as it unfolds.

Apple gives region-by-region breakdown of iOS 6 capabilities: specifies Siri and Maps functionality

In an effort to let its customers know exactly what they'll get when the iPhone 5 (and downloadable updates) arrive in their country, Apple has broken down what iOS 6 will offer in different territories. US customers will get the full bounty that the mobile OS has to offer, being the only country whose maps will be peppered with 3D buildings. A pretty comprehensive list of 23 iPhone-enraptured countries will join the US in claiming turn-by-turn navigation and traffic information, including most of western Europe, Australia, China and Canada.

Yesterday's lab installment gave us an opportunity to pit the Lumia 920 against competing smartphones in a low-light capture scenario, but Nokia's standard battery of tests is used to evaluate and improve far more than stills shooting. Several stops throughout the day brought us to a foam-filled sound chamber tasked with analyzing call quality in a variety of environments, a room with industrial freezers and ovens used to push the limits of operability, and a rig that can shoot with interchangeable sensors and apply image quality algorithms in real-time, without a handset in sight.

Microsoft announces Windows Phone 8 SDK preview program, Windows Phone Store replaces Marketplace

Naturally, there's a good amount of anticipation surrounding the release of Windows Phone 8 handsets, but before that day arrives, developers will need proper software to code apps. Microsoft stopped short of releasing the requisite tools, but today, the company announced the Windows Phone 8 SDK preview program — essentially a way for developers to get in line for when the software becomes available. As is, all developers must submit an application to the Microsoft Connect website by Monday, September 17th, at which point, they'll be provided instructions “the following week” of how and where to download the SDK.

Sony's Xperia T is now available on O2 and ThreeUK, Walther PPK/S not included

O2 and ThreeUK have announced that they'll be carrying Sony's Xperia T, the phone James Bond totes 'round in Skyfall. He's got a tough decision on his hands depending on which network he chooses, however, with O2 offering an exclusive tie-in edition of the handset with custom ringtones and pre-release images. On the other hand, he probably gets through plenty of data reading classified files and flicking through the Tom Ford catalogue, so perhaps he'd prefer Three's unlimited data.

There are few things we love more than custom-crafted carbon fiber cars with meaty all-electric powertrains and torque for miles and miles and miles. So, when we wandered by the display for the Furtive-eGT from Exagon Motors and, we couldn't help but stop and throw together a gallery - despite that company trotting out mildly modified versions of this concept for a few years now. The all-electric supercar weighs just over 3,600 pounds and has dual electric motors, one for each rear wheel, pumping out a combined 402 horsepower.
