There are strains of bacteria which have grown to be superbugs – simply because they have grown resistant to the antibiotics that we use in our drugs. This phenomena comes about as the routine use of disinfectants and antibiotics help promote antibiotic resistant bacterial populations. Well, perhaps those sneaky little buggers might be able to outsmart antibiotics, but they won't be able to escape from this new technology that was developed in conjunction with Queens University and recently granted a Canadian patent – where it is said to be able to kill off bacteria effectively thanks to the wonders of biomimicry.
