In a press release provided by Blizzard, the gaming company claims it has sold over 3.5 million copies of Diablo III in the first 24 hours after its release, thus holding the record for being the fastest-selling PC game in history. Blizzard also estimates–based on internal numbers and data from key distribution partners–that it has sold more than 6.3 million copies of the game in its first week. The release has its share of hiccups, though, as many players were unable to access the game due to millions of user requests that left Blizzard's servers overwhelmed.
