According to the folks at The Verge, it seems like we can expect to see a Skype update coming in time for the holidays and possibly as early as next month. Apart from the usual expected bug fixes and improvements, it seems that the highlight of this particular update will be the redesign of the Skype program itself where it will feature a Metro-inspired design that is prominent in Microsoft's other products, like Windows Phone and the upcoming Windows 8. Given that Microsoft now owns Skype, and with Skype expected to see integration in Microsoft's products, we guess the redesign was imminent.
